When you run a backtest to create symbols and pop over and look at them.
If I try to set the broker/account and then save the strategy it does not retain the broker/account info when I open the meta strategy back up.
Is this by design or something that should be corrected? I can see reasons both direction so ... asking.

I think you meant to type, ".. to create signals". Here's how it works right now -
When you open a Strategy Window, you can't select a broker (no Signal view). Running a Strategy still may not create signals; still no way to select a broker. When signals do appear, the broker/account selection defaults to the one you last selected in the Order Manager.
Even though you can manually Stage/Place signals, Strategy Windows are backtest development tools, not realtime trading windows - like Streaming Strategy windows and the Strategy Monitor. For these, you must choose a broker/account and the selections are saved with your [Trading] Workspace.
That said, I'd also like to see a way to identify the default broker/account to be saved with a Strategy. A scenario is EOD trading and sending stop/limit orders to the Quotes tool. You have to remember to select the right account in the Strategy Window to go with the signals. (For now, it's just as easy to set this up in the S. Monitor.)
... This would have to happen before even considering MetaStrategies sending signals to different accounts. My advice is that if you trade live this way, use the S. Monitor where you have control over each strategy, broker, and account.

No, it’s not designed that way, It’s designed so all the strategies in the MS use the same account, whatever account you select in the Signals tab.
