With a growing number of DataProviders and DataSetProviders there are more and more DataSets available in Wealth-Lab. Some of them come with a complex history of creation.

To keep track of these DataSets I'd suggest to add a Description field for DataSets.

This could be filled/set by the DataSetProvider or the code that builds such a DataSet or the user who creates a new DataSet from existing symbols based on some complex criteria.

Then the description could be displayed as a tooltip / balloon help In the DataSets frame and with a nice tab/text field in DataManager close to the "Symbols" tab.

I see this request most urgent for DataProviders like
* Norgate Data where complex DataSets can be created with the Norgate Data Updater.
* Portfolio123 where a DataSet is created from a larger set of rules for both the Universe and the Ranking.
* Sectors: When DataSets containing a sector are created, the description could hold a decent description of that sector.

Here is my Use Case that triggered this #Feature Request:

I made a few Sector DataSets:

And instead of a cryptic GICS code like "10102030" I'd like to see the aforementioned description like so:
QUOTE:
Companies engaged in the refining and marketing of oil, gas and/or refined products not classified in the Integrated Oil & Gas or Independent Power Producers & Energy Traders Sub-Industries. This Sub-Industry includes companies that produce ethanol, biodiesel, and eco-diesel fuels. This Sub-Industry excludes retail automotive stores and convenience stores that primarily sell gasoline (retail gas stations), automotive components, lubricants and related products classified in the Automotive Retail Sub-Industry under the Consumer Discretionary Sector and fuel dealers classified in the Oil & Gas Storage & Transportation Sub-Industry under the Energy Sector.

@DrKoch, may I ask how do you generate these sector specific datasets in a predefined universe?
